Artery forceps are hinged surgical instruments used to grasp and compress blood vessels. By temporarily clamping an artery, they achieve hemostasis by controlling bleeding and maintaining a clear operative field. They resemble ring scissors and feature serrated jaws for a firm grip and a locking ratchet mechanism.
